Rubber Band Gun V3
A 3D-printed rubber band turret with integrated Raspberry Pi, camera, and NEMA 17 stepper motors, designed for automated tracking and electronic firing.
Project Overview
Rubber Band Gun V3 is a 3D-printed turret designed to track targets using an integrated Raspberry Pi, camera, and NEMA 17 stepper motors. This iteration builds on the previous purely mechanical version by incorporating electronic firing and enhanced automation.
Approach & Solution
The turret features removable cassettes for quick reloading, each holding up to 50 rubber bands. The electronic firing mechanism, powered by stepper motors, replaces the manual pump action of V2, allowing for precise and rapid shooting.
Outcome & Results
Currently a work in progress, V3 represents a significant upgrade from previous versions, offering improved accuracy, automated targeting, and increased capacity. The project showcases innovative integration of 3D printing and robotics for recreational and experimental use.
